Who doesn't love a
good mystery? Certainly I have proven I am an avid mystery fan and will continue being one for a long time to come...give me Christie over Collins any day!
THE GOLD EAGLE MYSTERY is a short historical mystery from Mr. John Russo that stars Ethan Edwards a new Pinkerton Detective on his first cross country assignment.
Only thirty pages long, this is a fast paced story, delivering a lot of action, a lot of cerebral contemplation, masterful descriptions of how this new detective sets about deciphering the discordant data and learning from the false starts he makes along the way.
We all think yesteryear was slower, but Mr. Russo's tale contradicts that belief. I look at the accomplishments from the past and the time frame those accomplishments were made in and I have to agree with Mr. Russo showing us a faster yesteryear as he lets Ethan make his mistakes but still turn around and quickly grasp again the dropped threads and solve the the mystery.
THE GOLD EAGLE MYSTERY
4 1/2 stars for a wicked mystery with a surprising number of red herrings thrown in by an author who delivers every time.
