THE LOCKET by Ginger Simpson gets LADYBUGGED
THE LOCKET by Ginger Simpson
Long ago I learned objects and places can and do retain residual energy from events and people who've come before us. In THE LOCKET, Ginger Simpson plays very darkly on that concept and takes us through years of the darkness' interaction and dominion.
The locket isn't retaining the residue of human energy or past events so much as it's broadcasting its own evil fury to anyone unlucky enough to wear it.
Ms. Simpson is an award winning, multi-published author who cannot be pigeon-holed as an author of only ONE genre. No, she spreads her creative wings, and does so quite brilliantly, but this is the first of her books I've read that leans heavily towards the dark and ominous...in short, she scared the living bejeeburs out of me, and made me really glad I've never been a fan of wearing jewelry.
THE LOCKET is a potent book...too potent to award it anything less than the most potent of awards...
FIVE STARS...and maybe an exorcism too.
