What a wickedly suggestive title!
I was fully expecting a story deserving of me having to don asbestos glasses to keep my eyeballs from fusing together...and YES...there's plenty of raw sex waiting to keep the inner fires of even the most staid amoeba sizzling, but there's much more to this tantalizing story, that focuses on the ins and outs of witchcraft.
R.L. Courtright takes us into the secret world of Covens as they've been passed down since the dawn of creation...and regulated throughout time.
Kate Gregory an untrained witch and new owner of Trixie's Hot Box, inherited upon the death of her newly discovered grandmother Eva Longier, has moved to Missouri after spending her confused childhood with an aunt in Europe.
It's a whole new world for Kate.
Her childhood after the death of her mother, still a raw, gaping wound she blames the Covens for. She's barely arrived to claim her inheritance when she also has to deal with her sudden awareness of her developing powers and the recent murder of one of the local male witch's turned demon that the local detective wants to pin on her and/or her crew?
How does a woman who blames the Covens for her mother's death accept their interference now?
What a rich story this turned out to be. Historically revealing in spotlighting pacts made between the Roman Catholic Church and Covens eons ago, and the political system of the modern world of witchcraft.
I love, love, love this full bodied tale.
FIVE STARS aren't enough, but all I can give
TRIXIE'S HOT BOX.
I cannot recommend this book more highly....nor congratulate R.L. enough for writing such a sweeping epoch.
