BROKEN BONDS by Margaret Fieland gets LADYBUGGED

I did not learn until the very end of reading this book that it is the second trip

Ms. Margaret Fieland takes her readers on into the alien world of Aleyne. Does that mean the reader needs to first read book one

RELOCATED to get up-to-speed before grasping what it is happening, or GOING to happen in this book

BROKEN BONDS?

NOPE!

Ms. Fieland does a fantastic job of rapidly recapping for the first time adventurers. At no time did I feel lost. At no time did I have to wonder...what is going on? What I DID feel is the same level of frustration I feel today with the ongoing proof of political corruption confronting us almost daily with the news reports pouring out of Washington and downtown Podunk. Political manipulation at its finest, which translates at its most corrupt is alive and well in the distant future and has a stranglehold that we, the readers of today can understand all too well.

However, this is NOT a story limited by the intrigue of the underhanded greed and power plays that form the chessboard upon which the foundation of the story is built. It is, actually, a journey through the many levels of love, trust, fear, and core beliefs shaped by societal norms.

Ms. Fieland weaves her story well, bringing Science FUTURE, to Earth-NOW. Every level is carefully presented the reader understands, accepts, and almost wishes we too were a part of the cohesive units being forged in her future, Aleyne.

BROKEN BONDS

Science-Fiction? Yes...but more...so much more...and well deserving of the

FIVE BRIGHT STARS I give it.

I can't wait for the next book in this powerful journey.

THE MAGICAL MISPERCEPTION OF MERIDIAN by S.G. Rogers gets LADYBUGGED

THE MAGICAL MISPERCEPTION OF MERIDIAN ...
a SHORT ROMANTIC FANTASY

Jona meets Lee...they're children. She's a tomboy, he stutters around girls, not around her....but he doesn't know she's a girl...yet...she's got his back.

Today the QUEEN has come to town and Jona's sister has been chosen to present her majesty with the bouquet of flowers...so of course Jona's mother wants her to look like and act like a girl, but Jona's eleven, and acting like a girl in a starched dress with her hands primly crossed, sitting back straight in the front row her face too clean for comfort is not her idea of fun....nor Lee's.

Later she learns stuttering Lee is none other than the nephew of the queen...and she Jona, is the only female he can talk to without the stuttering...something the queen determines is of value.

I'm not going to do a spoiler and give away S.G.'s romp, but I will say this is a magical story...short...filled with sweet romance, so innocent it makes you want to wish upon a star. Jona and Lee are delightful. Everyone around them roots for their unlikely romance...except the hard-assed dragon of a queen. Can the queen be bested?

Again, this is a MAGICAL tale that leaves you smiling and believing once again in Fairy Tales and Happily Ever After...who among us doesn't want to harken back to those days when we believed?

Well Done S.G. Rogers!
THE MAGICAL MISPERCEPTION OF MERIDIAN
FIVE HAPPY STARS for taking me back to a time of innocence, joy, and unlimited possibilities.

STARCROSSED by Stephanie Bedwell-Grime gets LADYBUGGED

STARCROSSED could be the blueprint for

THE TOWER OF BABEL of the future.

Have you ever wondered how many misunderstandings occurred amongst nations at that place because of language barriers...and if it is not a precursor for what will happen in our distant future when we become a league not just of nations but galaxies?

Stephanie Bedwell-Grime has written a short-really short story about such an event.

It IS the future, and we have a woman involved in the HOSPITALITY industry of the future...knowing languages in the future takes on a whole new meaning when you are not limited to learning a few languages spoken by the pockets of people scattered on your home world, but the gazillions of languages and all their nuances spoken by all the peoples on all those planets out there surrounding all those clusters of stars in all those many, many galaxies.

I've often felt the hardest stories for a writer to tell effectively are the short stories because they have to have a lot of pow in a minimum amount of space. Each word the author writes has to be very well chosen to tell the dynamics of the story and make it believable, powerful, and worthy of the minimal space their allowed. Not everyone can accomplish this. Ms. Bedwell-Grime introduces us to Cassie, makes us like her, understand her, and cheer for her, she also makes us want her to succeed.

This is Cassie's first assignment as a sort of hospitality delegate for the Cetian Ambassdor negotiating the conference his people will conduct at Cassie's resort planet. Problem is Cassie's understanding of the Cetian language may just have offered herself in marriage to the ambassador and all the other delegates mates as well.

How's a new Protocol Officer supposed to undo her error when she finds the Cetian Ambassador makes her blood heat up and her tongue do somersaults whenever she gets near him?

This is a delightful frolic into the future. Well told despite its shortness and even though it IS short, Ms. Bedwell-Grime managed to make it concise, precise, and deliciously entertaining.

I hope she's planning to bring us more of her brand of playful stories.

STARCROSSED

Five Stars for this Sci-Fi Mini-Romp.

HER HEART'S DESIRE by Adriana Ryan gets LADYBUGGED

HER HEART'S DESIRE

by Adriana Ryan

Magic is in the air and Millie Fields is the delighted recipient.

Millie wants...she wants the office heartthrob...who also happens to own the office...

Millie isn't your walking, talking runway model....in fact the object of her wildest fantasy doesn't even know she exists. Hardly anyone does...and there's the rub.

Enter magic...but is the dreamboat worth the magic?

An old saying "Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it," popped into my mind the whole time I was reading this short but delightful read by Adriana Ryan.

For anyone who wants a fast, happy read where the girl gets her guy AND does a number on the snot nosed DOG who thinks he's just too great to breathe the same air as the rest of us, this is a great quickie. Millie Fields shows the depth of a vulnerable heart that sometimes can't see the gold beyond the patina of dross.

A well done quickie with a light, happy rhythm that leaves you glad you chose this HEA read to spend some time with. I have only one wish...I wish we'd gotten a better look at the relationship between Braedon and Millie. We need a little more Braedon. For that reason only I am giving

HER HEART'S DESIRE

4 1/2 STARS.

HER HEART'S DESIRE can be found at MUSEITUP PUBLISHING.com, AMAZON.COM, BARNES AND NOBLE, KOBO and where fine e-books are sold.
