Why do we let Mr. Wrong convince us he's the
Mr. Right we really want...right now...simply because he possesses all the gorgeous trappings of supposed perfection?
Okay he does have that magical III following his name telling one and all, his family are...scions of excellence...but still...perfection does not get passed just because a son and a great-grandfather, three generations apart, share the same basic names.
Jill Grant doesn't really NEED the very snooty David Griffith Swansen, III but she's a bit blinded by the sheen off of his golden pedigree so misses the fool's gold that is the real source of glitter lighting up his pristine.
SAN DIEGO OR BUST
I am always astounded by the amount of story Ms. Batman packs into her short stories...and this one, a coming of age, where Jill wakes up to the difference between the beauty of
pyrite and the subtle but more endurable patina of
pewter, is no different.
Five Stars and a BIG
