She hales from Greece, this powerfully gifted author and everything she writes digs deep into the reader's soul, embedding itself within the very intricate code of our DNA, where it hovers to flash back when least expected.
Sofie Jamieson's father is a man with a high profile and a code of ethics that frequently makes him the target of some unsavory crusaders...but this time the unsavory leader is not targeting dad...they're targeting twenty year old Sofie, a college student in England. Through Sofie the religious pounding crusader means to teach Dad some hard lessons about daring to malign "good" people.
Mr. Lloyd (Nik), the man hired to keep Sofie safe, has demons of his own, but is very good at his job...protecting and keeping the vulnerable safe...by maintaining a harsh, sometimes cruel veneer and keeping it firmly in place. Sadly for both Mr. Lloyd and Sofie, Fate has a way of sticking its tenacious nose into the mix creating a havoc more often than not, painfully wrenching to have to work through and around.
Viviane Brentanos is an author who keeps getting better and better..since she was already brilliant from the start, her advancing leaps towards perfection are energizing experiences for us, her avid readers.
FIVE STARS. I wish I could give it more, but
FIVE STARS is today's equivalent of Literary Perfection.
This IS a MUST read for everyone with a heart!
And for the powerful cover done by Suzannah Safi, I, Ladybug Lin am awarding a
LADYBUG LIN GREAT COVERS award. Very Well Done.

I'm not really certain I am the right person to review Sharon Delarose's series about bugs inhabiting the two acres of land I had as a child to grow up on because, for reasons I've never understood, I was born with a programmed from before the womb, I think, aversion...no FEAR of creepy crawlies.
Okay, I can see all of you are raising your brows and looking askance upon my lovely Ladybug countenance and saying. "Sure pull my other leg," But it's true. Even harmless ants made my skin crawl.
However, that said, I must admit, if Ms. Delarose was not a gifted presenter of the world that usually is way below my less than perfect sight, I would not be cringing and having a case of the heebie jeebies right now.
Maybe I am the reason so many of these creatures, that DO have their place in the ecosystem we all play a part in, needs such a series as the one Ms. Delarose is documenting.
I couldn't help wondering, if such a series had been part of my early curriculum I might not be squeamish still, after all these years?
Ms. Delarose's love for the gulp creepy-to-me crawlies comes through in the masterfully presented text of her book, and she presents a reasonable explanation for why bugs are a positive part of our world.
So in all fairness to Ms. Delarose and the multitude that love bugs, and those who, through this book, will COME to love bugs, I award this book
Ms. Delarose, I envy your great affection for the insects walking, crawling, hopping, and flying among us. I wish I didn't have this predilection to fear them.
Hopefully your words will help future generations of children to love them as much as you do.

Rare is the read that leaves you stunned, and sad for it being over, but THE GIRL AND THE DRAGON is such a read.
Adella knows nothing about who she is, except her parents sold her to the gypsies, who in turn sold her to slavers when she began showing an ability to communicate with animals...but not until she ended up being sold to a viciously cruel landowner, Sir John does she find love...not the love of another human, but the love of a stately beast so mistreated by Sir John himself, like Adella he's hungering for love, tenderness, and someone to make him feel he belongs. I am, of course speaking of Sir John's dragon.
This is the time of knights, but not all knights are honorable, nor the people serving or sold into their care compassionate to those weaker than they are, and vulnerable to the perpetuation of their own cruelty.
Fate steps in forcing these two to flee Sir John under the worst of circumstances wanting nothing more than to find a place to hide away in a place as safe as two runaways can hopefully be.
Adella and her Dragon fear the world around them, but for each other rise above it in ways neither could have ever imagined...and yet...
THE GIRL AND THE DRAGON...this story will haunt me.
The cover created by Charlotte Volnek is what first called me to this book. The power in the cover talks to your bones, much the way Adella talks to animals. You'll never forget it, and as such is my third, to date, cover I, Lady Bug Lin, am awarding one of my
GREAT BOOK COVER AWARDS to.
And for the equally potent story of THE GIRL AND THE DRAGON by Alice M. Roelke, I am profoundly honored to award
Thank you, Ms. Roelke...I am not the YOUNG ADULT Target audience for this book, but I am so glad you wrote it, and I had the opportunity to read it.
Being young is tough. We all have dreams that we somehow just never measure up to...And Maya? Well, she has a LOT of dreams...though most of them focus on Eric Brighton being the epicenter of her world. Unfortunately for Maya, the face she sees staring back at her in her mirror, doesn't stand a snowball's chance in...well...that really, REALLY hot place down below...of ever getting noticed by the most popular guy in school.
Until...what if Maya's more than she realizes and today is the day she learns the truth...she can have anything she wants...all she has to do is wish for it? Imagine, she thinks, being able to push aside the stuck up lead cheerleader and walk hand-in-hand with Eric?
This is Maya's new reality...a lot for a young girl to deal with...What will she do, and to what length will she risk the future to have what she wants right now?
THE FIRST DAY OF THE NEW TOMORROW
I'm Ladybug Lin,

RESURRECTION:STEPHANIE AFTER THE LILITHAN is book SEVEN of the Fate and Fangs Series by
Kristin Battestella, and I believe the finalé. As finalé's go, this is a moving one in many ways...but before I review it may I say a part...the BUG part of me...wishes all seven books were combined to make one moving anthology.
Since that's not the case, let me just address this book. Stephanie is married to Dr. Michael Appolito and now that all the vamps have been made human, sorely misses the fang life she had so very briefly. The fact that Dr. Mike is delighted by his return to humanity pretty much tells Stephanie their marriage is dead.
Stephanie missing the power, the excitement, and no doubt about it, the immortality is a curious thing for the reader, at first, but is quickly dealt with.
RESURRECTION: STEPHANIE AFTER THE LILITHAN...the title pretty much says it all...
4 1/2 stars for this the last of the Fate And Fangs...and to Kristin Battestella...
I add a profound...
No one knows more about Romantic Suspense than a woman who's spent most of her incredible lifetime participating in one.
Judy Joyce Winn could teach the rest of us what the true core of romantic suspense is, thanks to her abiding love and committed relationship with her "Forever-Love" her husband.
THE SILVER SEAHORSE.
A powerful book gets noticed first by the reading public because of its cover. Thanks to Nika Dixon, the newest, thanks to this brilliant cover, winner of the
LADYBUG LIN COVER ARTIST AWARD,
THE SILVER SEAHORSE had an eagerly anticipating audience long before its release date, and long before the rest of us discovered the rich story attached to this cover. Well done Ms. Winn and Ms. Dixon...together you have created cover magic.

A SCUFFLE FOR A WRINKLE is a fast paced, futuristic suspense story that's short, intense , and edge of your seat reading.
As I read this story I felt my heart racing, which may not be a good thing for most ladybugs, but for this one, was to quote some of my British friends, SPOT ON! It also got my blood to pounding and the hair on my skin tightening in exaggerated goose bumps. Real Scary Stuff!
A SCUFFLE FOR A WRINKLE
Definitely a 4 1/2 star worthy trip written, most masterfully by Luke Evans...and I,
Ladybug Lin, hope this is but the first of many such Luke Evans books that'll find their way to me, the Ladybug.
one of my favorite themes.
one of my sub genre favorite PARANORMAL themes...
THE JIGSAW PUZZLE has them BOTH...how lucky can you get? This is my second Ros Gemmell read, so I had high expectations after reading
SUMMER OF THE EAGLES.
Let me begin by saying the cover done by CK Volnek is powerful, and since covers are the first thing any of us get a chance to look at when looking for something to read, that's a very good thing for it to be.
Well Done CK and Ros.
Ms Gemmell is a truly gifted author coming to us from the magical land of Scotland, and although she writes for Tweens, she crosses many bridges to speak to those of us NOT tweenish any more.
In THE JIGSAW PUZZLE she gifts her reading fans with an adventure that takes two cousins seemingly as unlike as night and day and throws them into an adventure that is both harrowing and thrilling.
A puzzle is found in the attic of the cottage Amy and her mother live in that Daniel is visiting. On the box cover is a picture of the very cottage from long ago they are all staying in right now. The kids decide to put it together, but as they do the cottage begins to change, becoming the cottage in the puzzle...or they think it does.
What does it mean?
THE JIGSAW PUZZLE is an edge of your seat, magical adventure you'll love whether you're a tween or not.
FIVE STARS I award this rich TIME TRAVEL Fantasy...and hope, from the way this story ends, we'll be led through more Amy, Danielle, and Aunt Jill adventures from Ms. Gemmell's delicious mind in the not too distant future.
